Temporary and agency workers in the UK will receive equal treatment after 12 weeks employment. They will be entitled to equal treatment on pay, overtime arrangements and holiday entitlement after 12 weeks in a given job.
However the deal will not cover pensions or sick pay, and temporary staff will have to work the same length of time as full-time workers to get paid maternity leave. The UK Government and other European Governments will be holding further discussions to try to reach a deal at European level.
